Established in 1995, Quid Novis Internet Productions specializes in Internet marketing and web site design. Jeannine has over 26 years experience in the public and private sector as a marketing consultant, magazine editor, writer and graphic designer and as a self-employed entrepreneur since 1990.

In 1994, after obtaining Internet access, Jeannine shifted her focus to Internet development and marketing. In 1995 she incorporated Quid Novis Internet Productions and created their first product, the Quid Novis “Ezine”.

As chief executive officer, she coordinates all Quid Novis projects and supervises staff. Her other primary duties include business direction and management, project manager, lead designer, art director, and programming production supervisor. She is also a self taught Internet marketing expert.

Jeannine has been interviewed by local, regional, and provincial print, television and radio media and has given numerous seminars and training sessions on Internet marketing. She has also dozens of published articles on Internet Marketing. In February 2004, Jeannine was a Premier’s Award Nominee, presented to graduates of Ontario Community Colleges for career achievement and community involvement nominated by their college.

Jeannine was first runner up in the (first annual) 2003 Women in Business Annual Awards. In April 2005 Jeannine was named The Peterborough Business Woman of the Year, a joint event and award presented by The Greater Peterborough Area of Commerce and The Peterborough Examiner.

Jeannine has extensive experience in web user interface, site architecture and navigational planning and is an expert in Search Engine Optimization. She draws upon her skills and experience in project management, Internet marketing and graphic design in all of Quid Novis’ projects. She acts as lead creative and marketing director on all site projects, helping clients to clarify and understand their long term Internet marketing needs. Her skills include HTML 4, JavaScript, business administration and project management, traditional and Internet marketing principles, presentation and media skills, layout, desktop publishing, graphic design, extensive knowledge of web design principles and trends, internet domain and search engine registration, new media marketing techniques, web based advertising methods.

For the past thirteen years Jeannine has led design and programming project teams on all of Quid Novis’ web site development and consulting projects. In addition to day-to-day business management, her responsibilities include client liaison, co-ordination of design, programming and content; navigation and interface planning and Internet marketing strategies including search engine optimization. Her strong marketing background is evident in all of their results and end products. Jeannine has led the projects and completed navigational planning, graphics and interface planning for a number of major projects including York Region Transit, the Ontario Community Transportation Association; The Ministry of the Attorney General, Ontario and The Ministry of Correctional Services, Ontario.

Jeannine was Chair of the Web Developer Program Advisory Committee for Sir Sandford Fleming College and was instrumental in developing the curriculum for that program. Quid Novis donated a financial annual scholastic award to a graduating female student.

A self-professed geek and early adopter, Jeannine loves technology, hardware and gadgets. In her spare time, she would much rather be checking email at the cottage, and then kayaking with the digital camera on board.

Bruce Head
VP Technology & Programming

Bruce is the lead supervising programmer on the Quid Novis team and has many years of experience with Internet operating systems (UNIX, Windows NT). He also has a range of programming and graphics skills, including: interactive programming languages (ASP, PHP, Perl, JavaScript, VBScript, JScript, Java), database development (MS Access and SQL), graphics (Adobe Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Fireworks, Flash); extensive experience in HTML3 (seven years) and DHTML4. Bruce is also 50% owner (with Jeannine Taylor) of Proteus, our sister hosting company - which was established in 1996. Bruce has been active with the web since its inception.

Bruce has a range of both private and public sector experience. With more than 11 years experience in communications and policy/program development with the Ontario Ministries of Community and Social Services and Transportation, Bruce has an intimate understanding of the workings of the provincial government and public sector organizations. As a member of the inter-ministerial team member with the Community Transportation Action Program, he designed and maintained the program’s web site (http://www.ctap.gov.on.ca). In 1997 and 1998, he was part of the Quid Novis team who worked on the Ministry sites for the Attorney General and Correctional Services. Bruce joined Quid Novis part time in 1996 and relocated to Peterborough in 2000 to join the company full time. Bruce was the lead advisor / programmer for ongoing maintenance for York Region Transit, a contract that the company has held from 2000 to 2007. In late 2001, Bruce completed the initial programming for York Region Transit, which required an initial online application for data base delivery of routes and schedules. In January 2002, Bruce completed an upgrade of the database to SQL/ASP and developed a browser based administrative function for York region staff to update routes and schedules internally. By mid-2007 the YRT site will be upgraded to Trapeze Software real time trip planning schedules implemented to their web site with Bruce’s involvement.

Michael Young – Manager, Web Production

Michael’s involvement with Quid Novis began in 1995 as a member of our original development team. He was a key web developer for Quid Novis in 1997 during our delivery of the Ministry of the Attorney General (Ontario) web site in both languages (2000 screens). From 1997 to 1998 Michael held the position of web developer for Trent University where his site design was awarded the 1998 Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education Prix D’Excellence Gold Medal for the “Best Institutional Homepage on the World Wide Web”. In 1998 Michael accepted a position with Rogers Wireless Inc. in Toronto as Manager, Internet Web. From 2000 to 2005 he held the position of Senior Manager, Production, Consumer Web Applications at Rogers Communications Inc. in Toronto.

Michael’s extensive work in leading production teams and coordinating web content from concept to completion are a sterling asset to the Quid Novis team and we are pleased that he has recently returned as our full time Web Projects Manager. Michael supervises technical staff; co-ordinates deliverables with the CEO and Art Director; and acts as project liaison with clients. Michael’s experience as a Constituency Assistant to an MPP, Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1993 to 1995 has provided valuable experience and insight in Government projects, process and deliverables.

Jean Blanchette – Quid Novis Programmer / Web Developer

Jean has been on staff with Quid Novis since mid 2006 and fulfills our daily contracted maintenance requirements. We recognized Jean’s strong programming skills as well as his aesthetic sense and dedication to simplicity in graphic user interface. Jean has a strong base of experience in PHP programming and is rapidly gaining a vast wealth of knowledge in ASP and ASP.net through his day to day work in maintaining over 70 Quid Novis web sites. In addition to being responsible for day to day maintenance, Jean is always involved in new site development. His role includes CSS creation, HTML template conversion and testing, cross browser and multi platform testing, scripting and programming, and all HTML development in PHP and ASP. He is at ease with a wide range of data base challenges in Access, SQL and mySQL. Jean is a fast and efficient programmer. His work with Quid Novis includes research and development of new web applications. Jean is directly supervised by our Web Projects Manager Michael Young who co-ordinates scheduling and delivery of maintenance deliverables to deadline.

Jean Greig - Web Writer

Jean Greig is a freelance copywriter, journalist and screenwriter based in Peterborough, Ontario. Recent contracts have included copy for Nexicom, website text for Gilead Power, Inc. and Dream Freedom Inc., advertorial pieces for Christensen Fine Art, feature articles for Mature Living magazine and the Peterborough Examiner, and television scripts for Shaftesbury Productions, Inc. Through her business, Getting the Word Out, Jean also offers editing, proofreading and research services. She has an academic background in science, and has worked in community development, environmental services and community education as well as freelance writing.

Jean is frequently our top choice for Quid Novis web copy development projects for corporate clients. We have completed a number of porjects with her in 2006 and 2007 and have worked with her for a number of years on community projects and committees. Jean is an insightful interviewer and an intelligent writer. We are pleased to include her on our web projects.

Miriam Stucky - Web Writer

Miriam is a freelance copywriter, journalist and project coordinator based in Peterborough, Ontario. Miriam has a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Her project co-ordination skills are perfect for web content creation projects where multiple staff and offices are involved. Miriam is the weekly Events Editor of quidnovis.com, which requires strict attention to detail and follow-up with multiple community organizations. Her recent work for Quid Novis includes content creation for The Student Nutrition Program web site, where she successfully created consistent copy from 7 regions across Ontario.
